In 2004 the Assemblies of God approached my wife and I and asked if we could make a difference in Downtown Sacramento. There was an old vacant building on 15th and C st in Downtown Sacramento that needed a lot of work. We took the challenge and began the Dream Center, emulating the Los Angeles Dream Center and its multi-ministry approach of meeting the needs of the community. With YWAM (Youth With a Mission), church planting and business experience we began the work with the help of 35 students from Capital Bible College, bunch of bikers and a team from Radical Reality. Our first day began with barbequed steak outreach and a whole lot of love. It was a great success and today we have numerous agencies, ministries, businesses and corporations helping in one of the neediest communities in Sacramento.
In March 2012 we acquired a 10,000-sqft medical facility creating more opportunities to impact our community. Starting in summer 2012 a concerted effort will be made to the youth in the surrounding areas with sports camps, theatre, acting, music and mentoring. Large-scale intense community impacting events are the norm and the community is responding in a very positive way and people from all walks of life are being encouraged towards a brighter future.
